Singer Banky W in a post via his Instagram page has responded to several comments directed at him, criticizing him about the “size” of his wedding…after declaring years ago that he said he would opt for a small wedding when he wants to get married.

In light of the criticisms, he is still maintaining his stance that he doesn’t like “elaborate” wedding, despite spending millions on his wedding.

Some folks accused him of having an “unnecessarily large wedding” ceremony to his actress wife, Adesua Etomi.

The wedding festivities of Banky and Adesua went on for a number of days and across a number of countries for the traditional ceremony which held in Lagos, white wedding and bridal party l in South Africa and Thanksgiving ceremony in London respectively. The festivities also led to a TV documentary series which showed all the process leading up to the marriage union and the wedding itself.

Recall last year, Banky had in a rant via snapchat, said he wouldn’t have a large wedding. He wrote:

Small weddings as the besssst… if/when I do get married, no way I’m doing that huge Lagos wedding move. Never.

However, in a new rant posted on his Instagram page, responding to the  he said:

I have learnt to grow thick skin and almost always ignore the online chatter, but every once in a while, I feel the need to respond. So here are my 2 cents.
Meanwhile, the singer spoke about how he got into the relationship with his now wife, Adesua. He revealed that they had been in the relationship since 2015, adding that they started dating after he slid into Adesua’s DM on Twitter.

According to him, he never planned to date or marry anyone from the entertainment industry but got star struck after he realised Adesua was spiritually filled.

I met Adesua in 2015 and after inquiring about her from her manager, Isioma, i went online to search for her and found her social media handles. I looked her up online and I liked what I saw. I googled her, stalked her on the gram and a day or two later, I slid into her DM like the real man that I am. I had two defining moments with Adesua. One was before we started speaking. It was actually when I was stalking her and I saw a video of her and her childhood friends singing worship songs and I felt like this is really refreshing to find someone in our line of work that would readily show this part of them. The second part when I knew was when we took a private trip somewhere and it was the first time that she danced with me and at this point, I already knew she was a spiritual girl and a praying woman. But if i can confess, I was a little bit worried that when it comes to the turnups and the fun, I wasnt sure if she would be free like that and the very first time she danced with me, they were playing Rihanna’s ”Work” and she danced with me. Ladies and Gentlemen, once you have the spiritual and physical, you close shop, you move. I wasn’t specifically looking for an entertainer as a wife because of what I presumed, but she took me off the balance. I am glad i married Adesua because she understands my business and the pressure that comes with it.

Speaking on BBN host, Ebuka’s ‘Agbada’ which ‘broke’ the internet on his traditional wedding, Banky said he asked Ebuka if his Agbada was finer than his, and he replied that, ”it might be”

Banky in conclusion urged Nigerians to pray for them as that is all their relationship needs to be more prefect than the wedding.
